Not that long ago I was in Vegas and went to do a tour at Zappos.  Yeap, you can contact then and schedule a tour of their main office and they will show you everything you need to know about them…great tour and you should definitely try to do it if you have to spend some time in Vegas…they even have a shuttle to come pick you up from your hotel!

In addition of being a fun tour, it was also a great learning experience…there are reasons big and successful companies are the way they are, because they think outside their box to get the results they want…and that’s at every level of their company.  For example; At Zappos, employees at any level need to read at least 2 business- related books a year to have a promotion and a raise…and yes, Zappos do pay for those books…

Yep, what you just read is really surprising but true.  How many business books and/or self-improvement have you read this last year? what about your employees would say about such demand? 

Another example of thinking outside the box…this is a picture of yours truly sitting in the ‘main’ chair in their HR office…also known has their ‘in-house therapist office!’  When ever an employee has something to say, there’s a place for it!

And Yes, some people really work in those cubicules!!!
